Important Update:
Kids' Makers Workshop Temporarily on Hold

Dear Friends and Supporters of the Kids' Makers Workshop,

We want to let you know that, due to unforeseen circumstances, our current location for the Kids' Makers Workshop is no longer available. As a result, we are temporarily pausing our events while we search for a new space to host our workshops.

We’ve loved seeing the creativity and excitement each of the kids bring to our monthly sessions, and we are committed to continuing this program. However, in order to move forward in a new location, we will need to secure our own insurance and cover additional space-related costs. Furthermore, to expand our program and offer more than a once-a-month event, we will need to bring on a manager who can help us grow and navigate these challenges.

This is an exciting next step for the Kids' Makers Workshop, but it also requires more time, resources, and support than we can currently provide. If you’re passionate about helping us continue offering this valuable program for kids in our community, we’d love to hear from you! Whether you’re interested in volunteering, providing suggestions, or offering expertise in securing funding, your involvement could make a huge difference.

If you’d like to be part of our efforts or learn more about how you can help, please reach out to us on our contact form below. We truly appreciate your support and are excited to keep building something special for the kids!

Thank you for your understanding and patience during this transition. We’ll keep you updated as we work to bring the Kids' Makers Workshop back stronger than ever.

Sincerely,
Fran Hudson

The Importance of Making

The concept behind Kids’ Makers Workshop is that giving kids an opportunity to independently make functional things of their own invention is important to their well-being. Kids need autonomy. They need unstructured time to explore and invent. Acquiring the skills to make things with their own hands increases their confidence. Producing functional things gives them a sense of purpose and meaning. And working creatively alongside other kids meets social needs for independent free play.

The volunteers who host these monthly makers workshops for kids care about providing that experience for kids in our community.
